Everything You Need to Know About Two Point Museum's First DLC: Fantasy Finds

Two Point Studios and SEGA have officially announced the first DLC for their simulation title, Two Point Museum. Following suit in the comedic gameplay that started back in 2018 with Two Point Hospital, the team brings in even more comedy into the simulation title, expanding on what is already there.

The franchise's DLC history has been a bit rocky, with the first entry boasting 13 total DLC (two of which were free), and then the latest one — Two Point Campus — only going as far as launching four. The release slate for Museum is seeing the same timelines as Campus, with the first DLC launching four months after release.

With that said, Two Point Museum: Fantasy Finds has been shown off to the world, and Two Point Studios has been vocal about what we can expect in the title. So, without further ado, let's check out everything you need to know about the DLC.

What Content Can We Expect?

As the name suggests, Fantasy Finds is going to be focusing on all sorts of exhibits that glorify the mystical, magical, and fantastical! Bringing in a fantasy world for players to enjoy, you'll be able to head out into the world (with a new map functionality) to find artefacts and display them in your museum.

The specifics regarding content that we're aware of are the following:

  • There are 40 new exhibits with magical properties to find.
  • New Expert type with subclasses.
  • A new map functionality that lets you explore the world in search of the fantasy artefacts for exhibits.
  • A new party functionality where you'll build a group based on classed adventurers (Barbarian, Wizard, Rogue, or Bard) and pass checks to see how you fare in each of the locations.
  • 26 brand-new decorations, items, and utility items exclusive to the DLC.
  • Interactive displays to make your museum feel more alive.
  • A helicopter paint job that'll make it more mediaeval.
  • Three new guest archetypes to deal with, including goblins and gnomes.

The new gameplay brings all sorts of fantasy, while also including a bit of table-top wonder to the title.

When Can We Start the Two Point Museum: Fantasy Finds Content?

If you're picking up Two Point Museum for the DLC, or starting from scratch after a break, you'll be able to experience Fantasy Finds during your museum career. Specifically, you need to complete Memento Mile Act 1, the first location, but this is when the first bits of content get unlocked.

Strictly speaking, sandbox mode gives you access to Fantasy Finds content right away, whereas you'll need to unlock certain Points of Interest with specific requirements (such as the Marine Life exhibits you can't discover until you've passed Act 1 of Passwater Cove). So while you can experience it at varying points, it's built to unlock some things as you progress through the game.

Does This Mean That Two Point Museum Will No Longer Have Free Updates?

The launch of DLC always makes fans worry about the release of free content updates, and we have good news: Two Point Studios has been very communicative about its free content plan. But Two Point Museum will keep incorporating robust free features with not only the release of Fantasy Finds but also the upcoming major update, 4.0.

When Fantasy Finds launches, the first three Points of Interest on the new Expedition map will be available for free for everyone, alongside hiring the new Fantasy Expert and the first few stages of the Fantasy Enlightenment track. This will give players a taste of what's to come if they buy the DLC, but it's part of a free sample: what you can unlock there you can keep forever, and to get more, you'll need to buy the DLC.

Meanwhile, Update 4.0 will bring a new museum level set in the Arctic atop the Pointy Mountains, and it'll work as the final act of the base game, featuring five story acts, trying in with Hayley Von Trowel. It'll be the largest square footage level, and it'll requite Curator Class VII to play, testing your curating skills to the max.

It's unclear whether, after Update 4.0, new content updates are expected for free.
