First Major PS4 Update Goes Live Today
The eagerly anticipated 1.70 update for the PlayStation 4 is released today and it brings with it a massive amount of new functionality for the console, with perhaps the biggest feature being the introduction of the Share Factory app, a video editing software that allows users to take clips they've already recorded using the Dualshock's share button and turn it into short videos to share.
The update also sees the introduction of automatic game downloads for preorders that begin on launch day, Live HD broadcast capabilities that allow players to stream their gameplay to Twitch in 720p and more payment options for the PlayStation store.
As well as many technical improvements, Sony have included lots of little, but still useful features; it's now easier to connect with the PlayStation Vita, search for friends and organise trophies.
