Free "Mutators" Update Coming to Rocket League

Everybody's favourite rocket-powered football game, Rocket League, is getting a massive update next month. Psyonix is adding "Mutators", which are going to seriously mix up the gameplay. And best of all, it's going to cost you nothing.

You can mutate a wide variety of settings, so you can change the strength of the gravity, ball size, boost amount and strength, ball bounciness, and so many more. The list really does go on.

In a call back to Psyonix's previous title, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, they are also adding "Cubic", a mode in which the ball is replaced by, well, a massive cube. You will be able to check out pre-set mutator matches in the new "Mutator Mashup" playlist. Check out the trailer above for a glimpse at what you can expect from the update.

In addition, Psyonix has also announced yet another new mode, which will replace the ball with a puck. That's right, Rocket League is going all ice hockey on us this December. Meanwhile, the "Mutators" update will be available in November. And they're both going to be free. Thank you Psyonix, you're the best.

Would have been cool if in the ice hockey arena the puck can go behind the goal. Would probably make scoring a lot more difficult though.

Oh lordy, I saw "Pinball" in there. If it's anything like the pinball mode in Carmageddon, this will be anarchy.
