Future Games Show GC 2025: God Save Birmingham

When looking at zombie survival titles, you’ll notice quite a few of them take place in the modern era. This makes sense, as our dense concrete jungles and modern armaments make for interesting setpieces for the undead hordes to populate. But what if a plague of the newly risen happened in the medieval countryside, without the modern niceties of shotguns and cricket bats? This is the question God Save Birmingham sets out to answer.

Set in 14th-century Birmingham, England, the game puts you in the sodden feet of a mediaeval peasant stuck in the middle of an undead apocalypse. Armed with little more than a pitchfork and a loose understanding of physics, you must keep the rotting revenants at bay as you keep yourself healthy. Use the game's physics engine to stack items in front of doors or climb barrels to safety, while flinging buckets or loose stones at your shambling assailants.
