Future Games Show GC 2025: Kaidan

I’m just gonna say it, Kaidan is nothing short of grotesque. I mean that in a good way though. This is clearly the kind of game that is designed to be unnerving from start to finish, and the enemies in the trailer we saw in the Future Games Show are the kind of stuff that wouldn’t be out of place in a fever dream. Some have too many limbs, some have too few limbs, some have appendages that may or may not actually be limbs…

The swordplay is every bit as violent and bloody as you might expect from a game that describes itself as “a nightmarish vision of Japanese dark fantasy twisted by cosmic horror”. The protagonist, “The Seeker” manages to destroy a number of these demonic Akuma, before finally succumbing to a gory death at the hands of I-don’t-even-know-what. It’s a delightful spree of viscera, gore, and violence, and you absolutely have to check it out above to see why I’m quite so excited for this debut title from 5th Column Studio.
