Though we mostly think of their days riding behind the Great Khan, there are many facets of their day-to-day life we don’t know about, which is something the upcoming title, Windstorm: The Legend of Khiimori, aims to address.

Set in 13th-century Mongolia, the game sets us in the well-worn shoes of a brave courier rider. Deliver packages and missives between inhabitants, find crucial items, and explore the vast plains and harsh climates as you prove yourself as an expert courier. Breed the right horse for the right job and master the intricacies of living on horseback. As you learn of the culture and the titular Khiimori, or Wind Horse, you’ll enjoy unparalleled realism in lifelike equine behaviour and animation, refined and approved by experts.

Windstorm: The Legend of Khiimori is set to enter Steam Early Access on the 4th November 2025.
