gamescom Opening Night Live 2025: inZOI: Island Getaways

inZOI Studio and KRAFTON, Inc. made an appearance in the gamescom Opening Night Live 2025 with their life sim competition to The Sims — inZOI. Heralded as the killer of Electronic Arts' highly established franchise, the Early Access title has received some backlash and struggled throughout its release, but it's safe to say that it's been a pretty successful launch for the team, seeing as they have raked in quite a bit of money!

While the game has received complaints of being relatively empty in its original state, it still has a positive release all things considered: plenty of sales, a surprising all-time peak for the genre, and even 76% positive ratings across 21,147. The team is not done yet, though, and inZOI's development cycle is just beginning. The latest trailer takes a look at the first free update for inZOI; though this is labelled as a DLC, bear no mistake: it's an entirely free expansion for the gameplay.

The expansion brings a slew of changes for players to take advantage of. Here's what you need to know about inZOI: Island Getaway!

• Explore the new city of Cahaya, composed of three islands.
• Engage in all-new farming, mining, and crafting across the new city and the ones launched in the first version.
• Spend a day at the resort to rest, relax, and recuperate.
• Enjoy various resort activities on the island, including different activities for several days of the week.

This is part of the inZOI plan to keep the game up-to-date throughout 2025 and beyond, and we've gotten a look at the roadmap that covers up to 2026. The DLC inZOI: Island Getaway will be available for free on the 20th of August 2025.
