gamescom Opening Night Live 2025: Road Kings

Being the king of the road looks pretty easy. Our hero starts out in a quaint little diner with a coffee and his phone. But then, the blues-rock kicks in, he jumps into his cab, and hits the open road. Bobblehead bobbling, keys jangling, and wheels turning, the titular road king starts his drive through the night and across the country.

Road Kings, which sees you driving for XDC logistics, is probably a truck simulator, but we don’t know fully from the trailer. There’s a lot of exchanges of text messages as the character collects haulage jobs, but then it gets a bit more interesting as a twister hits the horizon. With a grin, the unnamed monarch is off to drive into the centre of it. We’re told that it’s coming 2026 for PlayStation 5, PC, and XBox series, and the obligatory fade to black kicks in.
