Gamevice Gamepad Now Available At Apple Stores

Apple has made no bones about the fact that they want their devices to be seen as a strong gaming platform. With a number of hit titles on the iPad and iPhone, they could be seen as some of the most popular devices on the market for mobile gaming. There’s one thing that a dedicated portable console has which they don’t though: buttons!

New to Apple stores however, is a device that can bridge that game. The Gamevice is an attachable gamepad that brings the world of physical buttons to iOS devices. The device is compatible with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, 6s and 6s Plus, iPad mini, iPad Air & iPad Air 2, iPad Pro 9.7, and the forthcoming iPad Pro 12.3. It’s available at most physical Apple Stores and as well as the Apple online store. Prices start at $99.95 in the US and £79.95 in the UK
Weighing in at less than 400g for iPad and 200g for iPhone, Gamevice comes armed with a lightning connector and dual analog sticks. They claim to be offering the lowest latency and most responsive gameplay of any MFi-certified controller on the market.

Once you’ve clipped the controller onto your iDevice, you can then download the Gamevice Live companion app, which aggregates all known iOS-controller-compatible games in one place. There’s over 830 games already supported, with even more on the way. Modern games such as Assassin's Creed Identity, Minecraft, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, FIFA 16, and Halo, are supported, as well as retro gaming classics such as Tomb Raider II and Sonic the Hedgehog.
