Grim Dawn Announces New Fangs of Asterkarn Update Pricing and Release Time

Create Entertainment released one of the biggest ARPG competitors to Diablo 10 years ago, with Grim Dawn launching for players to explore a complex new gameplay mechanic. Exploring an apocalyptic fantasy world, players can customise their characters and mix two classes together, creating unique builds and exploring plenty of difficulties, perfect for those who want to enjoy the authentic ARPG experience.

You'd be forgiven for thinking that Grim Dawn was retired long ago, with 10 years under its belt, but the reality is far better than that, as the team is preparing to launch a brand-new expansion this week. We got a look at the upcoming pricing for the content, the release time, and even a reveal of the amount of content that will be unlocked with the new expansion.

Grim Dawn - Fangs of Asterkarn is the newest expansion, where players will head to the titular location and explore all-new combat encounters, quests, items, and more. It's very expansive, though there's a bit of a caveat for playing the title: those who wish to enjoy Grim Dawn - Fangs of Asterkarn will also need to own Grim Dawn - Forgotten Gods and Grim Dawn - Ashes of Malmouth.

This makes Grim Dawn - Fangs of Asterkarn more of a continuation expansion rather than a standalone DLC, as players will need to own all of the expansions to be able to enjoy it. We thought that was worth a mention before delving into pricing, content, and release time.

In terms of content, the team says that Fangs of Asterkarn is the biggest expansion that the game has seen, and it's easy to see why. In the screenshot below, you can see the type of content that was added for all three major expansions, alongside the content that was available in the original launch of Grim Dawn 10 years ago.

There's even more content that hasn't been mentioned here, as the team delves into more content for players to enjoy. This includes the following:

• New Ascendant Game Mode.
• A new 10th Mastery, bringing the total number of combinations to 45.
• All-new content through bosses and quests to get to know the world of Cairn even further.
• New environments that are over 80% of the size of the base game, and 32% of the entire base game and expansions combined.
• New potion customisation mechanic with 6,210 potion combinations.
• New Affix Transmutation, which allows players to reroll rare and magic items to custom-craft their perfect build.
• An expansion of the Crucible introduced in the Grim Dawn - Crucible Mode DLC (not required to play the new expansion).
• An expansion of the Shattered Realm, which brings new regions and boss arenas to the mode.
• Hundreds of new items with a new capability to unlock the true potential of Epic items to get them to become even stronger.
• Three new factions for players to meet and learn the history of.
• Two new roguelike dungeons to be introduced as free content updates for the Fangs of Asterkarn expansion.
