Guild Wars 2 Update from Developers

Guild Wars 2's next expansion has been announced along with a roadmap for the game's future in 2022 and beyond.

The studio behind the game, ArenaNet, posted an update where they touch a bit about how things have been going on their end of the game, as well as mentioning that Guild Wars 2 has more than doubled in their playerbase throughout the last three years. Through this update, they hoped to bring some information about a variety of things concerning the game, and within those, here are some of the big ones:

• The fourth expansion for the game is coming.
• Guild Wars 2 will be coming to Steam and the launch is set for this year.
• The game will be receiving DirectX11 support.
• More updates are coming to End of Dragons as well as for World vs. World.
• As per player request, Living World Season 1 will be making a permanent return as a part of the story journal.
• Guild War's 10th anniversary is in August.
