HELLCARD 2 Has Been Revealed; Check Out the Trailer Here

Skystone Games and Thing Trunk revealed their upcoming sequel, HELLCARD 2. Just like its predecessor, it will be a deckbuilding roguelike, but this time, up to four players can enjoy the experience together.

The team wanted to dig even deeper into the RPG elements of their original release, so they aimed to create a living and breathing storybook, where every run impacts the narrative future of the next ones. To build upon their already built foundation further, Skystone Games polished some of the previous mechanics, such as adding more depth to the adventure.

Konstanty Kalicki at Thing Trunk, one of the members of the team, had the following to say:

The original HELLCARD was defined by its tactical positioning and emergent tactics, and HELLCARD II takes this even further. It leans into the pen-n-paper aspect of dungeon crawling: building your own stories with each run, customising your characters, deciding on side quests together whiletrying to figure out the story. It’s the book of adventures we always wanted to make.

 

Here's everything HELLCARD II will offer:

• A deckbuilding roguelike gameplay loop.
• Tactical card combat with focus on spatial positioning and strategy.
• Gear that unlocks by completing achievements and that affects aesthetic, deck composition, and core mechanics.
• Play alone or with up to three others.
• More character classes, gear, artefacts, and customisable stories.
