How to Request a Steam Refund (Including Steam Deck and Big Picture), Quick & Easy!
Whether you're refunding because a game isn't working or because it's not fun, you can ask for a refund! It's surprisingly easy, too. Here is how you do it:
- Go to your Steam Library.
- Select the game you'd like to refund.
- Click on "Support", which is located at the end.
- On this page, click on either "Gameplay or technical issue" or "It's not what I expected", depending on the issue.
- "Gameplay or technical issue": will offer various options; all of them then suggest actions, including asking for a refund.
- "It's not what I expected": will suggest two; one of them is to refund.
- Once you select "I'd like to request a refund", all you need to do is select the payment method and offer an explanation.

How to request a refund on the Steam Deck, Steam Machine, or Steam Big Picture Mode
The way to get to the refund option only varies slightly when in Big Picture Mode or on the Steam Deck. Here's how you do it:
- Go to your Steam Library.
- Select the game you'd like to refund.
- Click on "Game Info", which is located at the end.
- This will lead you to an overview; here, select "Support", which should be the last option.

Obviously, it's not a definite yes, but Steam is charitable with their refunds. This is especially true if you've not played it for over two hours and purchased it recently.
You will receive an email from Steam Support when the ticket has been answered!
