Huntdown - The Bounty Hunting Platformer Inspired by Gritty 80s Blockbusters

Looking at the moody aesthetic and gritty style of Huntdown you wouldn't make many comparisons to the irreverent Goat Simulator series; yet, the same publisher, Coffee Stain Publishing, is behind them both. Releasing on 12th May, Huntdown is a "twisted love letter to over the top, old school 80s action movies and arcade games". Find it on Switch, Xbox One and PC (via the Epic Games Store).

Up to two players can team up to storm through the title's crime-ridden 2D pixel art stages. Shooting and busting punks, hoodlums and criminals is the name of the game here. As one of three fearsome bounty hunters, the "streets of mayhem" are yours to clean up with as much violence as is necessary (and lots will be necessary). Confiscating weapons off bad guys will let you make use of them: machine guns, laser rifles, explosives and more...

At a silky smooth 60-FPS, Huntdown takes pride in its visuals, boasting hand-drawn movement animations and "painted 16-bit pixel art graphics". The moody look itself, according to Tommy Gustafsson (Co-founder, Designer and Director at Easy Trigger Games), is directly inspired by films like The Terminator, Robocop and Bladerunner.

Huntdown is available for pre-order now; check out the latest trailer above.

It releases 12th May on Switch, Xbox One and PC (via the Epic Games Store).
