Infinity Ward to Develop 2016's Call of Duty
The announcement was made on the official Infinity Ward Twitter page tonight, confirming rumours that the next Call of Duty would be developed by the California studio.
Infinity Ward's last title was the poorly received Ghosts. The company made its name with Call of Duty when it revived the flagging series with Modern Warfare in 2007, going on to release two further Modern Warfare titles and bringing the "Modern Military Shooter" genre to its current height.
Many key members of the team moved on after the studio heads, Jason West and Vince Zampella, were dismissed by Activision, and later formed Respawn Entertainment, developers of Titanfall.
Expect to hear more news over the coming months, and presumably see a presentation at E3 in June.
