Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game Releases 'Meet the Klowns' Trailer

The team behind Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game has released more details about the over-the-top MGM movie from the 80s. Players can choose from five classes – Trapster, Tank, Fighter, Scout or Tracker, each with unique weapons, abilities and playstyles.

Each Klown is equipped with the signature raygun that traps humans into cotton candy cocoons, healing laughter, and the Klown Jump, which allows aliens to quickly leap to any point on the map that the Klowns have already discovered. There are also class-specific abilities, all inspired by the original movie.

TRACKER

Based on Spikey from the film, this class is best for searching for prey. He can shoot humans with a Popcorn Bazooka or summon a Balloon Dog that will point towards the closest survivor. Also, the tracker has an Invisible Car!

TRAPSTER

Rudy can't fight that well, but he can place traps, which makes up for his lack of strength. The Trapster also has an arsenal of the Baby Klown: an ugly, larvae-looking buddy who springs up and latches to the victim. His other ability is the Popcorn Mine, which packs an explosive punch with its bucketload of C4.

TANK

Chubby has a powerful downward strike, and his only ranged attack is his Extendable Jawbreaker. With the strike, Chubby can summon a carpet of cotton candy that traps anyone caught within it. Talk about a power move!

SCOUT

Jumbo specialises in not only scouting but also in close-range combat and stealth. For what he lacks in range and pure attack power, he makes up for his ability to strategically take out the enemy by silently drawing them out with Hypnotic Lure and smashing them with a mallet. Or you can channel your inner shinobi and substitute yourself with an A.I. So many possibilities!

SCOUT

Shorty comes as advertised, and he just wants to fight someone. He can disguise himself as a pizza box when he's not feeling up to it. Or you can use his tricycle to pedal your way to victory by crashing into the enemy.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game will release on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox X|S, PS4, and Xbox One sometime this year.
