After finishing its Kickstarter campaign on the 12th November 2020 (and reaching two stretch goals along the way), NeocoreGames' tactical RPG King Arthur: Knight's Tale has been confirmed for a Steam Early Access Release on the 12th January 2021. Unlike many Early Access titles, King Arthur: Knight's Tale is only planned to exist in a preview state for a few months before releasing in its finished state on PC in early 2021 (slightly later for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X).
Set around a dark, twisted version of Arthurian mythology, King Arthur: Knight's Tale sees players filling the ironclad boots of not Arthur himself, but his former nemesis Sir Mordred. As Mordred builds his own Knights of the Round Table and sends them on quests to help rebuild the devastated Camelot, he must also embark on adventures of his own—adventures that will decide the ultimate fate of the land.
With this title, NeocoreGames has set out to combine tactical turn-based strategy gameplay with the stylings of traditional character-based RPGs. It seems ambitious, but judging the successful Kickstarter campaign, the game's fans have faith that the NeocoreGames team can succeed.
King Arthur: Knight's Tale releases on Steam Early Access on the 12th January 2021 with a full release planned on PC in early 2021; PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X versions to follow later.
