League of Legends Launches New Pandemonium Motion Comic: What We Face

At the start of last year, Riot Games decided that the game would pivot into a tri-Seasonal approach, where we'll be able to enjoy three smaller stories throughout the major updates, rather than doing so only once per year. To do this, the year is split into three segments (not necessarily of the same length) called Seasons, and each of the Seasons is segmented into two Acts each.

This move allowed Riot Games to test our major gameplay updates throughout the Season, starting with the first Season of the year and releasing major changes in the way we used to see in the seasons prior. Then, moving on to making adjustments for the Act, and then further adjusting throughout each of the Seasons.

One of the benefits of this approach is the capability to make each of the Seasons themed, starting with regions, and then moving on to themes and even other Runeterra universes (such as the highly beloved Star Guardian). We saw a story unfold regarding the last Darkin threat throughout year one, and we're still piecing together everything for this year's finale coming up during the final Season.

The lore-heavy approach means that we're getting comics released throughout the Acts. In fact, for some of these, we get the opportunity to enjoy several comics, giving us a deeper look into the world of Runeterra and further familiarise ourselves with it.

For the latest midlane AP melee assassin launched — Locke, the Ashen Exorcist — we got a new comic, as it's an exciting new release, considering he's the first champion launched of 2026, despite the fact that we're nearing the halfway point.

Each of the comics is launched on the League of Legends client, which allows players to check them out first-hand and click through. However, for those who are no longer playing or are just looking to keep up with the latest launch, we also get the opportunity to watch them on the official YouTube channel.

For this latest one, we got Pandemonium: What We Face, which lets us learn a bit more about Locke and his story. It's an expansive eight-minute-long video, showcasing short, looping animations, voice acting, and plenty of lore to learn.

We won't spoil anything, so those looking forward can watch the embedded comic above. If you're interested in picking up Locke, you can learn how to get him for free by following this link.
