LifeAfter's Season 5 Power of Mutation To Launch In Just A Few Days

The open world doomsday survival game LifeAfter, developed by NetEase Games, is launching its Season 5: Power of Mutation in just a few days. The world looks like it's ending, too, as the survivors have a new crisis — a giant “sky eye” opens up above the sea, mutations are taking place worldwide, and the mysterious Ark City appears on the sea.

In terms of the backstory, above the Doomsday World sea, a giant eye opens up the sky, whose signal points to an unknown Source. A new crisis dawns on Survivors as Mutated Infected appears in the game for the first time. Players can equip themselves with items around them and become stronger as they're tasked to investigate the mutations and collect intelligence from the mysterious signal, and they will hopefully find a strange kind of black crystal.

To celebrate the launch of Season 5, LifeAfter worked with composer Akira Yamaoka, known best for the Silent Hill series and creating the theme song for Power of Mutation. This story develops with the people of Ark City utilising the Power of Mutation while fighting the Source crisis, which has impressed Mr Yamaoka, according to the developer. The very setting of power and threat coming from the same source has also inspired the creation of the game’s theme song.
