Mexican Ninja Announces Upcoming Console Launch Alongside PC via Steam
The roguelike beat-'em-up title Mexican Ninja was announced last year in July, inviting players to check out the bizarre world. The Narcos and Yakuza groups have come together, creating the ever-dreaded Narkuza clan, which has seized control of Nuevo-Tokyo.
This is where the titular protagonist comes into play — fusing the power of donkeys and ninjas, the eponymous Mexican Ninja will save the day, leading the uprising against the Narkuzas. Using tight combos, sharp dodges, and perfect parry windows, bring down the tyrannical Narkuza and free Nuevo-Tokyo.
The title has had a demo available on Steam for a while, with the promised 2026 release date on PC. We've seen updates to the demo and various new additions through several trailers, showcasing things like new gameplay elements and some of the enemies that await, such as Crack Panda!
Now, however, the team has a major announcement — Nuevo-Tokyo is coming to more than just PC. Previously, Madbricks and Amber Studios' comedic title was going to be exclusive to computers; however, the latest trailer revealed console launches would be coming to the experience, too.
Here's what Dario Hoyo, the Creative Director at Madbricks had to say about the console release:
Mexican Ninja has always been about energy — the kind you feel in your hands when every dodge, combo, and parry clicks. Bringing the game to consoles alongside PC in 2026 means more players can jump into Nuevo Tokyo at the same time and experience that rhythm. Whether you're on keyboard or controller, it's about flow, confidence, and fighting back con huevos.
Mexican Ninja will now be releasing on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, alongside PC via Steam sometime in 2026!
