Mirthwood Foundations Update Live On Steam
Videogame developer Bad Ridge Games and publisher V Publishing have announced the major update their medieval life simulator, Mirthwood, titled the Foundations Update, is out now on Steam!
The update will build on the base game by introducing new story events, seasonal festivals to attend, new furry friends and more on offer for starting and existing players, as well as the confirmation today, Mirthwood is now Steam Deck Verified.
The plot thickens as Mirthwood’s brand new story encounters include town-wide scenarios like bandit raids and rodent infestations to spice up a little challenge for players as the seasons change in the Free Lands.

New random encounters and events have also been added as the player can come across active skirmishes between different bands, overturned carts, dead bodies, spilled loot, wandering bards and more.
Several seasons come with their own festive events in town, filled with unique festival regalia, dancing along to live music, and discovering one-of-a-kind items from local vendors.
Accompanying players in the new update will be furry companions to have on your farm, who will help defend the homestead from natural foes and the occasional thief, as well as the event of NPCs permanently passing away from the dangers you find in the Free Lands.
Deceased townsfolk can be found in the town’s graveyard, memorising the person they were.

Mirthwood has the player build their own farm to plant and harvest crops, take care of livestock, and explore the Free Lands, an open world made up of six diverse regions with their own biome, and three distinct towns to trade, upgrade your equipment and quest in.
With a wide range of NPCs to interact with, who simulate the economy and events in the world, the player can play several roles in the game, including becoming an adventurer to find the rarest of items and battle foes.
