Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is Making Big Changes to the Rite of Channeling!

In a recent Steam post, Capcom uneveiled more information about their upcoming release, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. Aside from getting a glimpse of the characters and monsters, they also lightly touched on something that might be a game-changer for some players: tweaks to the Rite of Channeling!

The mechanic, found in previous Monster Hunter Stories titles, allows players to combine the genes of Monsties to awaken new skills! The technique has been made easier to use this time around, inviting players who may have been put off from experimenting with it before.

In Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, players will be able to choose a particular gene from a list; if none of the Monsties has it, there is a new option to Find in Field. This means that players will be able to track it in the wild!

That's not all — for those of us who struggled to use it in the past due to being too attached to our Monsties, there's even better news: neither the Monstie nor the genes will be consumed during the Rite of Channeling! This opens up the ability to experiment with all kinds of gene combinations.

Those were all the sneak peeks we got for now. If you'd like to see all the characters and Monstie images, you can check out the newest Steam post!

At the time of writing, you can try out the game through the demo, which you can find on Steam! If you're considering pre-ordering, we've got a piece detailing the pre-order bonus and differences in editions.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection will be available on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on the 13th of March.
