Out and About Talks About Upcoming Cooking and Photo Quests; Watch the Video!

Yaldi Games developed and published Out and About, a cosy foraging adventure where players will look for real-life plants. These can then be used to cook recipes and make herbal remedies to help rebuild the community! The title launched on Early Access back on the 11th of August 2025, and it has received a 91% Very Positive score on Steam.

Recently, the team opened up about what they’re working on in a Steam post! They began by stating that they have more than 200 recipes and have a plan to make 19 mini-game “templates”; these will make recipes feel like cooking in real life.

In addition to the upcoming cooking mini-games and quests, the team is also working on photo ones. In update 1.0, the title’s full release, players will be able to use their camera to snap pictures of quest objectives; this is done to add a puzzle element and some variety. The team shared two videos, one for each, so that players can see how it’s going and how they will work!

Aside from that, they also talked about what they’ll be polishing and adding. Namely, some of the Spring and Summer quests will be changed, as they played a bitch fetchy; instead, they will be replaced by photo quests.

The last chapter of the Autumn story is on the way, too; players will get to meet Riley in it! A focus of the narrative will be on nature accessibility and the restoration of The Bell.

Lastly, player housing will be available in Out and About, but the team warns that they won’t be able to afford a fancy decorating system because they only have one programmer. They also ask the community to submit what sort of furniture they’d like to see, in the comments of the post or on their Discord server.

While Yaldi Games can’t confirm a specific date, the team is aiming to release Out and About’s 1.0 sometime in early October. Players can expect more updates and improvements after release, and then some DLC; some of them will be for free, some paid.
