Rhythm-Based Fighter God of Rock Is Out Now

Rhythm games are seizing the dance floor of today’s gaming industry. From surprise hit Hi-Fi RUSH to the dreamy levels of Melatonin, rhythm titles keep finding new ways to bring players certified bops and beat-filled challenges. Joining these musically charged titles is God of Rock from Modus Games, a rhythm-based fighter game that blends two genres to pack a punch. Available to play now, God of Rock features 12 unique characters, 48 original rock tracks, and multiplayer gameplay for local or online matches.

A new launch trailer also dropped alongside the game’s release, showcasing fast-paced battles and epic attacks reminiscent of your favourite fighting games, but the most notable addition is the colourful note chart with musical notes zooming down the lines. Be sure to stick to the beat in order to unleash attacks on your foes, which will prove to be a challenge as the beat picks up and the music becomes more complex the longer the battle continues. That’s where Special and Ultra attacks come in handy for finishing off your opponents.

Some other key features include different game modes. Story Mode will let you battle to the beat across a branching story whereas Training Mode allows you to master songs and practise special moves. You can also customise tracks in the Track Editor to put your inner musician to work.

God of Rock is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
