Serious Sam 4 Story Trailer

It may come as a surprise to anyone who's played the earlier franchise entries, but Croteam's Serious Sam 4 looks to step up its game in the story department. As shown in the story trailer above, the titular Sam will once again embark on a gun-toting, globe-trotting adventure to thwart the next alien threat, but this time he's not alone. Joined by a gang of similarly gung-ho soldier-types, the oh-so serious team will unite to fight across Italy, America and even space!

There's a lot to take in for such a short trailer, but one thing's clear: the cinematic influence of Michael Bay, particularly his Transformers movies, has had a massive impact on this title. For many games, this might be a cause for concern; for Serious Sam, it feels just right.

Serious Sam 4 launches on PC (via Steam) and Stadia on 24th September.
