Shelter 2 Announced for Fall 2014

Swedish studio Might and Delight has released the first look at their upcoming game Shelter 2, which follows the trials of a mother lynx and her cubs in the middle of a beautifully designed open-world landscape. 

Building on the mechanics of its spiritual predecessor Shelter, which followed a similar story featuring a mother badger, Might and Delight has employed more complex gameplay through hunting scenarios which will require players to continually improve in order to survive. Shelter 2 will also feature a much larger map than the previous game, which players can explore from the central safe haven of their den.

"The essence of Shelter as a concept is keeping your family alive," explains CEO Anders Westin, "[and with the lynx] Shelter 2 will become a much more forceful experience." Might and Delight has kept the semi-abstract visual style of the first game, and in a teaser trailer, viewers watch the lynx and her cubs move across a beautifully-rendered winter landscape. 

Might and Delight have not announced an official release date, but Shelter 2  is set to launch on Steam and Good Old Games sometime in the fall.
