Sonic Mania Special Stages and Time Attack

In case you weren't aware, there's a new Sonic the Hedgehog game coming out soon, and the retro-styled 2D game is causing quite a stir. Fans are looking forward to Sonic how Sonic used to be in Sonic Mania, complete with chubby belly and pixels. One of the staples of classic sonic was the special stages, and this new title is no exception, with the blue spheres levels of Sonic 3/Sonic and Knuckles returning alongside the UFO chase from Sonic CD.

Something newly announced for Sonic Mania is the Time Attack mode. With Sonic being all about going fast, it's a game that will clearly attract speedrunners to the party. Well, this mode allows you to perfect your run, and boast about those scores with an online leaderboard. The game will be released for PS4, Xbox One on the 15th of August, with the PC version following on the 29th.
