Another day, another leak from a UK retailer; this time, Base have seemingly accidentally revealed that playable character Spider-Man will only be available on PlayStation platforms in the upcoming game Marvel's Avengers.
The quote, which has since been removed, was picked up by Reddit sleuth FNaF_walrusman before it was removed by the retailer. Thankfully, the page was captured by Archive.org prior to its removal (a screenshot has been provided below as well).
Spider-Man's exclusivity to PlayStation platforms isn't entirely surprising given that Sony owns the media rights of the character. Hence Insomoniac's 2018 game Marvel's Spider-Man is an exclusive to the PlayStation brand, and films prior to 2015, when Disney alongside Marvel signed a deal to share the rights to the character, were produced by Sony themselves.
The beta for Marvel's Avengers is scheduled to run this month, beginning on the 14th August on PlayStation 4. The full game is set to release on 4th September on PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia and Xbox One, with next-generation versions coming later this year and it has already been confirmed that early adopters will get free upgrades for the new consoles.
