Street Fighter V DLC Can Be Unlocked For Free

Big news was announced today for Street Fighter V detailing post-launch gameplay related content. At EVO 2015 Capcom released the news that all post-lauch gameplay related content will be attainable for free by playing the game. Capcom also said that the release disc will be the only one you'll ever need to own, and that all balance and adjustment updates will be free.

This means that Street Fighter V will be the first in the series where players can earn released characters and other content for free by playing the game. Street Fighter V will launch with a core roster of 16 characters, 4 of them being brand new entries. Capcom say that post-launch will be adding a continuous selection of new fighters.

This is what Capcom had to say about the news:

With Street Fighter V, we want to change the way that players interact with the series, and create an ever-evolving environment for players to enjoy. By releasing new characters on a regular basis, it will ensure that there is always new content to look forward to in the short term, and it prevents the competitive environment from ever becoming stale.

Purchasable content is still available but players can choose what appeals to them without being cut off from other content. An in-game economy has been introduced to execute a service-based model for the game, this includes:

• Fight Money - This is basic currency that players earn through playing the game. Once players accumulate enough Fight Money, they can use it to earn new post-launch gameplay content, such as characters, for free!

• Zenny - This is premium currency that players can purchase with real money to immediately gain access to post-launch content.
