Survival Sim Distrust Coming to Steam

Inspired by the John Carpenter classic The Thing, Distrust is a survival game with a twist. Stranded in the Arctic, you'll play as both survivors of helicopter crash, and have to keep them both alive as you navigate the unforgiving terrain of the frigid continent.

“Distrust is not your usual survival game. In addition to scavenging for food and equipment in a randomly generated map, players will have tons of quests, game events and plot twists to keep them coming back for more”, said Artem Bochkarev, Producer at Alawar. “Adding an even deeper psychological layer, character mutations caused by a lack of sleep can range from seemingly harmless, such as a survivor giggling uncontrollably or quoting Shakespeare, to dangerous, where the survivor may see his partner as a monster and try to kill him.”

The unique mechanic sees you switching between the two survivors, with the aim to scavenge food and supplies to keep both of them alive. At the same time, there's a dreadful force that attacks the characters as they sleep, sucking the life from their bodies and distorting time and reality. You must establish what is real or not in order to work out just what's happening, and how to survive it.
