Survive the Jungle in Stranded: Alien Dawn’s Major Free Update

Survive the Jungle in Stranded: Alien Dawn’s Major Free Update

Frontier Foundry and Haemimont Games have announced a major free update for their hit planet survival sim title Stranded: Alien Dawn, detailing new features, mechanics, resources, a new survivor, a new jungle region, and Photo Mode. It’s set to go live very soon on the 29th of June 2023; here’s a rundown of what you can expect!

The environment and weather of the colourful Saltu Region brings players new flora, fauna, and challenges. Your survivors and resources will all be impacted by the heat and humidity; whilst your survivors will be susceptible to new tropical diseases like Swarm Fever, Gut Worms, and Blood Infections, your crops may get infested with Xenoflora Blight, devastating your harvest if you don’t deal with it swiftly. But not to worry, as with previous Stranded: Alien Dawn updates, there’s a new survivor and she happens to be a natural healer. Meet Melody Adeyemi, her knowledge of herbal medicine and keen intellect bring solace to those she tends to, making her an ideal team member in this sweltering region when your survivors inevitably fall ill.

Stranded Alien Dawn New Region

Stranded: Alien Dawn is also expanding its gameplay with new mechanics in the form of Work Areas and Area Flags, allowing players more control over where survivors can and can’t go, as well as effectively setting up multiple bases across the map. Another new mechanic called Survivor Tools includes a new dedicated slot for carrying helpful equipment, such as a survival kit, respirator mask, night goggles, signal flares, harvester tools, or even grenades. There’s so much more to look forward to, such as a new Photo Mode to take breathtaking screenshots, two new alien species to discover, quality-of-life updates, and bug fixes.

Stranded: Alien Dawn is available to play now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. You can also watch a developer livestream on the 28th of June at 4:00pm BST for a more in-depth look at the changes coming to Stranded: Alien Dawn.
