Team17 Acquires Golf With Your Friends, Exploring Potential for a Sequel

British company Team17 has today announced an acquisition of the rights and assets for Golf With Your Friends for the sum of £12 million.

Originally owned by three-person Brisbane-based developer Blacklight Interactive, the multiplayer golf game now joins the likes of Worms, The Escapists and Overcooked! 2 within Team17's in-house development pipeline. Blacklight Interactive will have no future involvement with the property. 

The £12 million sum will be paid in an initial instalment of £9 million with the final £3 million to be paid after 12 months.

Discussing the company's plans for the game's future, Team17 stated a desire to "create additional opportunities to extend the life cycle of the existing game". This includes, but is not limited to DLC. The announcement also teases that the company is "exploring potential sequels and other opportunities for the GWYF  (Golf With Your Friends) IP".

Golf With Your Friends is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
