The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls Requiem Reaches $3.5 Million Goal

The Kickstarter for Edmund McMillen’s upcoming expansion for The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls, a card game based on Edmund McMillen’s highly successful roguelike videogame series of the same name, has reached a reward goal of $3.5 million (currently on 3.8 million at time of writing), surpassing the original goal by nearly 4000%. Rewards have been coming in steady intervals, and have ranged from Binding of Isaac themed tattoo sheets, to exclusive dice and even a colouring book that will be present in high-tier donation editions of the expansion.

This has coincided with an epic social media campaign that has fans of the card game competing in a series of online challenges in order to gain a preview of cards that will be arriving in Requiem, the upcoming expansion. Each challenge comes in sets of five, and if the community manages to complete them, they progress to the next level and gain a preview of what to expect. As of writing, there are still 27 days left on the Kickstarter campaign, so we can only imagine what the closing donation amount will end up in. As for the challenges, the community is currently soaring through them, and you can see in more detail the spectacle it’s providing over at Edmund McMillen’s Twitter account, as well as catch very regular updates regarding the state of the Kickstarter and details about the expansion.
