The Elder Scrolls Online Gives Players Free Days Over Launch Issues

Apologising for the game's numerous launch hiccups, Zenimax is now giving The Elder Scrolls Online players an additional five free days of gameplay.

The game's first month saw it face numerous issues--most notably an economy-destroying bug that led to thousands being banned--which led to Zenimax taking the servers offline, and players losing a portion of their free thirty days by extension. In a blog post detailing the first update and summarising the game's first month, game director Matt Firor thanked players for their patience and "being part of the ESO community while we work to make this extraordinary game and service even better."Accounts that were created before 8pm EDT (3pm UTC) on May 1 will receive a confirmation email about the extra days or can find out more in the website's FAQ.

Zenimax has been working on more than just combatting bugs and gold farmers however, and Firor's blog post also teased some upcoming updates and additions to the game, including the implementation of a justice system for committing crimes (a longtime staple of the Elder Scrolls series), new Veteran Dungeons and improved facial animations for NPCs.

The developer also promised players questlines for the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood, Tamriel's league of supernatural assassins, in future updates, meaning the game should include the four staple guilds of the Elder Scrolls franchise. Elder Scrolls Online's first update, which has been available to PTS players for a week now, has already introduced the game's first Adventure Zone, Craglorn, and Trials, which are both catered towards high-level players of the Veteran Rank or above.
