The Evil Within Gameplay Trailer

Bethesda has released a new trailer featuring gameplay footage for its upcoming survival horror game The Evil Within, which was developed by Japanese studio Tango Gameworks.

The work of Shinji Mikami--creator of the Resident Evil franchise and widely considered the father of survival horror--The Evil Within follows the story of Detective Sebastian Castellano, who is called to the scene of a grisly mass murder where he is ambushed and knocked on conscious by a strange, evil force. Waking in a deranged, Silent Hill-esque world full of monsters and gruesome scenery, Sebastian fights for survival as he works to unravel the mystery behind this place.

This new trailer gives players a first look at the actual gameplay, mixed in with what appears to be cinematic cut screens. The Evil Within  is slated for release on August 4 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
