The Evil Within Trailer and Pre-Order Details Revealed

Bethesda have today released a new trailer for upcoming horror game, The Evil Within. The trailer mostly shows the reaction of some people playing the game, although there are teases of gameplay full of gore and grotty environments in there for good measure.

Developed by Tango Gameworks under the direction of the grand master of survival horror, Shinji Mikami, The Evil Within sees the player take control of Detective Sebastian Castellanos who, while investigating a mass murder, ends up plunged into a world of the living dead and worse. Mikami is responsible for for most, if not all of the Resident Evil games up to and including Resident Evil 4, as well as other titles such as Dino Crisis, Devil May Cry and Shadows of the Damned, so this promises to be something special for fans of the genre.

Alongside the trailer there is also the announcement of a special pre-order version of The Evil Within called, rather ominously, The Fighting Chance Pack. Even more ominous when you consider the fairly scant amount of extra equipment you are given as a reward which includes a medical kit, a double-barrelled shotgun with 3 (yes 3) rounds of ammunition and some special bolts, presumably for a crossbow type weapon.

The Evil Within arrives on U.S. shores on October 21, in Australia on October 23 and in Europe on October 24 this year, and is available to pre-order now.
