The GEM box is an Android Based TV Console
EMTEC have announced that their console, the GEM box, will be available in Europe ready for the end of August. Priced at just shy of a hundred euros, this diminutive console is an Android based box that pairs with the included Bluetooth gamepad or optional motion controller to play games on your TV. It comes pre-loaded with four games from esteemed mobile publisher Gameloft but also connects to Google's Play Store to download more.
Where this device hopes to succeed, despite the failure of other Android based consoles like the Ouya, is that it also supports the streaming of big AAA titles like Sleeping Dogs, Alan Wake and Batman: Arkham Origins. This is done through the use of the GameFly streaming service, also seen on many smart TVs.
With support for up to four players and gyroscopic controllers available separately, the system is aimed at those wanting some multiplayer fun without a high price tag. The company also allow the installation of emulators, meaning that retro-gamers will be able to play their favourites of yesteryear as well.

The streaming thing intrigues me. It intrigues me a lot... But it's more expensive than a Steam Link by quite a margin.
