It’s been almost three years since The Last of Us Part II was first revealed during 2016’s PlayStation Experience event, and in that time fans have only been given a glimpse of two relatively vague trailers, along with a short gameplay demonstration. Thankfully, the silence is being broken soon, with The Last of Us Part II being shown off again at next week’s State of Play.
Given the fact that it’s been over a year since any major information about the game was last revealed, it’s probably safe to assume that this will be a relatively comprehensive chunk of information, with even a solid release date seeming well within the realm of possibility. Just don’t expect the game to be dropping this year however, with Death Stranding being wedged nicely as PlayStation 4’s big winter blockbuster title, and Sony most likely wanting a number of months to turn up the dial on marketing for the game.
The next State of Play will be roughly 20 minutes in length, airing on 24th September at 9pm BST.
