Train Sim World : CSX Heavy Haul Is Coming

Fans of trains and simulators rejoice, a new Train Sim is coming to town!

Dovetail Games' Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul arrives on Windows PC on the 16th of March, 2017, and features 60 miles of USA territory for you to go a'chugging. It takes place in what is known as the Sand Patch Grade route across the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania and Maryland, and it looks like a pretty place as any to train around.

The game features seven guided tutorials and welcomes newcomers with an accessible user interface to help get players up and running as quickly as possible. Advanced users will have the choice of using fully functioning in-cab controls with no prompts, UI or highlights, to make the simulation more simulating.

Built with Unreal Engine 4 and Dovetail’s proprietary SimuGraph vehicle dynamics engine, Train Sim World has "fully customisable weather systems" and claims to be the most technologically advanced first person train simulator around, even accurately replicating the performance, sounds and feel of real trains. You're free to walk around three different locomotives and do real life train stuff such as coal loading, switching and refuelling, and turning locos on a turntable. There is also a new "service mode" that puts you in the shoes of a non-space engineer, which recreates an entire 24-hour timetable and allows players to take control of any one of the trains on it as well as accessing the manifest, local, and short hop freight services. If you didn't realise from the abundance of specific terms, this is a very niche game.

The first release in a new series, the game retails at £24.99. Pre-orders are 10% off, and owners of previous Train Simulator games get another 10%. Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul releases on Steam on the 16th of March 2017.
