Turbo Overkill Early Access Trailer

Turbo Overkill, published by Apogee Entertainment, is a mix of retro style and modern graphics, a Blade Runner-meets-Doom hellscape bundled into the form of a first-person shooter.

Take the role of Johnny Turbo as he finds his crime-ridden hometown overrun by a rogue AI named Syn. It's malicious code has infected thousands of augmented humans, meaning guns won't be enough for Johnny to clean the streets, he too needs to augment in order to stand a chance.

Surviving the challenges ahead requires you to upgrade Johnny's augmentations for different playstyles, such as his chainsaw leg, or his Twin Magnums that lock-on to targets. Perhaps you prefer to keep a safe distance, which is why the Telefragger sniper rifle exists, as this teleports Johnny into enemies, making them explode like a piñata.

The game was designed as a loving evolution of classic FPS titles, such as Quake and Doom, while also taking inspiration from more modern day entries into the genre, like Titanfall and Apex LegendsTurbo Overkill wants FPS veterans to lose themselves in its frantic, pixel-perfect gunplay against swathes of half-robot enemies, while also exploring the nooks and crannies of the dense, intertwining levels.

Turbo Overkill will chainsaw slide into Steam Early Access on 22nd April 2022, while the main release will hit PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch later this year.
