Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Receives Third Year Renewal with Updates to Year-two Roadmap
Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment's Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has been out since the 9th of September 2024, as the game is preparing to celebrate its second year of launch. At the time, the team had announced that all future content that wasn't cosmetic would remain free for everyone, and the team has kept this promise, with 20 paid DLC, two free DLC, and two years' worth of free content for players to enjoy.
Now, the team has celebrated 12 million players jumping into the experience, which is a massive success for the team overall. Not that it's surprising, however, as the ongoing free support paired with the robust launch package was more than most AAA studios offer nowadays.
With Space Marine 2 succeeding in every front, the team has renewed its live support for a third year, meaning that players can expect one more year of full content to enjoy. This means that more updates, cosmetics, weapons, and more missions can be expected moving into the second half of 2026 and the beginning of 2027.

With April's arrival, Patch 13 has launched, which was the second-to-last item in the year-two roadmap for the game. This has been updated with a new look to showcase what players can expect in Patch 14 sometime in Q3, with the promise of a new year-three roadmap to arrive.
Though nothing has been shown off for the third year, the April update lets us know that the content that didn't manage to make it into the second year of updates will be arriving in the third year. This comes with a confirmation that all of the content will remain free for players to enjoy moving into the third year of Space Marine 2, with no confirmation of closure, which means that — given a great year — it might even be possible to enjoy live updates for another.
