When is the Next Steam Sale: Ocean Fest

All the cards are on the discard pile, as the Steam Deckbuilders Fest has run its course. Featuring all sorts of deckbuilding roguelikes — including the legendary Slay the Spire itself — the week-long fest gave players looking forward to the experiences the opportunity to find all sorts of titles to enjoy.

Last year, we were given the opportunity to learn about all of the Steam sales that would be running throughout 2026. First, we got a look at the ones in the first half of the year, as Valve announced these ahead of time to allow developers and publishers a chance to prepare something for the upcoming event with ample time for planning and polishing, from updates to demos and new releases.

The next sale we're going to enjoy is a bit interesting in terms of theme, diverting from the genres and common themes into... the ocean. It's weirdly topical with the launch of Subnautica 2, and one has to wonder how a coincidence like that came to be.

This sale should feature the nightmare of thalassophobes around the world, with cute, cosy, and horror titles set in the deep sea. Plenty of titles spring to mind, as ocean has seen love from developers around the world using it as a setting for activism.

The Steam Ocean Fest launches on the 18th of May 2026 and will run for a week, ending on the 25th of May 2026. You can expect discounts, new releases, and demos to participate, so lovers of the ocean should keep an eye out for this one!
