Windows 10 is the OS of Choice For Steam Gamers
50.35% of all PCs surveyed in the latest Steam Hardware Survey are running Windows 10 in some form, the first time the OS has seen above 50% penetration. The increase means that DirectX 12 systems are now found in nearly half of all surveyed PC Steam players, meaning more and more people are getting the sweet, high fidelity graphics of Microsoft's latest iteration of the software.
Nvidia and Intel are still dominating on the graphics front, with 58.84% & 88.65% respectively. With both companies showing gains over the last 6 months of the year, it's not looking like that domination is set to end any time soon either. Market share for the Oculus Rift is slowly growing as well, but it's got a long way to catch up with the Vive's 61.01%
Of course, it's not all Wintel on Steam. Mac users are currently loving the Macbook pro it seems, with more than half of all Apple users possessing one (possibly due to the lack of a new desktop Mac for ages now). Linux users are starting to move to Ubuntu 16.10 with market share for that OS increasing, while all other distributions drop slightly.
