Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition Tops Animal Crossing in UK Charts

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition Tops Animal Crossing in UK Charts

After 10 weeks coming and going from the number one spot in the UK charts, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has once again been topped, this time by Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. The re-release of 2011's critically acclaimed RPG is performing far better now than it did nine years ago, likely due to the popularity of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 which released on the Switch in 2017.

Set in a vast open world, players will fill the red-strapped boots of Shulk, a young man who discovers he can wield the Monado, a mysterious and ultra-powerful blade. With a party of comrades in tow, Shulk will embark on a quest to free the world of the mechanical menace of the Mechon. With real-time, party-based combat, Xenoblade Chronicles mixes the party management of JRPGs with unique elements of its own.

Xenoblade Chronicles Future Connected

Brand new for this re-release (in addition to a slew of quality-of-life changes) comes an epilogue chapter, Xenoblade Chronicles: Future Connected, set one year after the conclusion of the main game. Focused around the relationship between Shulk and Melia, the bonus chapter reportedly packs in an extra 15-20 hours of content.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is out now for Switch.
