Yooka-Laylee on Switch Faces More Problems

If you are still waiting for the Nintendo Switch release of Yooka-Laylee then you will be waiting some more as the developers have announced more set backs.

In a update posted to the Kickstarter page, developer Playtonic point the finger of blame to the Unity game engine. During the development of the Nintendo Switch version a number of technical problems came up and to overcome these the team waited for Unity 5.6 to drop. Now it's out however, it seems not everything has gone smoothly.

"Although [5.6] has now been released, it has unfortunately introduced other issues which we are working with Unity to resolve before we can submit to Nintendo and lock in our release timeline.

We understand the frustration that it's taken so long to get the game in your hands but we hope that you understand that we're working as fast as we can and want the game to perform as well as it possibly can on Switch. Once these remaining issues are resolved we hope to finally be able to commit to and share a launch date."

The game was meant to be released for the Nintendo Wii U but after the death of the console the version was dropped in favor of the Nintendo Switch. Hopefully fans will not have to wait to much longer for this version of the game. If you are interested in knowing more about Yooka-Laylee, you can read our review here

Yooka-Laylee released earlier this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac and Linux and will be available sometime in the future for Nintendo Switch.
