PowerWash Simulator 2 - STAR WARS Pack Review

PowerWash Simulator 2 - STAR WARS Pack Review

The second paid DLC for PowerWash Simulator 2 is here, the STAR WARS Pack. It brings along six levels set to mesh with the original trilogy of movies, two per movie, and rather than pretend that you're a normal cleaning company sent to a galaxy far away, you're actually controlling a P0-W2 cleaning droid, with a pressure washer which makes the same sound that blasters do.

Developer FuturLab always does its research for these licensed DLC, so it's a pleasure to check out even the ones that I'm unfamiliar with. Of course, I have actually seen the first three Star Wars movies, but I wouldn't have been able to tell you how many landing struts the Millennium Falcon has, or what the instruments are called in the Mos Eisley Cantina.

Every object that requires cleaning is well designed, with bits and bobs, hatches and compartments, and just all sorts of attention to detail that I'm sure would impress any fan. The flavour text (text messages) is also fun, with Stormtroopers wondering why Darth Vader was leading a ground assault, and the Empire accidentally selling you to the Rebels among the highlights.

While the inclusion of the blaster sound effects when you press the trigger and a "hover" effect on the floor cleaner are fun touches, the other droids that you encounter didn't appear to make any noise. It's a glaring oversight, to be honest, especially since every other detail is so painstakingly added.

One of my favourite things in the three hours I spent cleaning the STAR WARS Pack in co-op was the scale of everything. It's not like this is the first game to feature an AT-AT, but you've never been able to abseil along the side of one before, or take your time to inspect the drivetrain. It's impressive.

There's not a lot more to say about this, since it's six levels, most of which have a single object in. Some nice details dot the landscapes, such as spacecraft flying outside of a window or smoking turrets in the distance, and it's as relaxing a play as any other five levels. PowerWash Simulator 2 - STAR WARS Pack is a decent addition to the game that I'm happy to spend an afternoon in.

PowerWash Simulator 2 - STAR WARS Pack (Reviewed on Windows)

This game is great, with minimal or no negatives.

With six levels, it's the same size as any other DLC from FuturLab, so if it's within your budget and you don't absolutely hate PowerWash Simulator or Star Wars, then you'll love PowerWash Simulator 2 - STAR WARS Pack.
