Zombikini PinballZ Review

Hardly the only pinball game to release this year, Zombikini PinballZ tries to make its mark with the adage that everyone knows: sex sells. Also zombies are pretty popular in videogames, right?

This game sees you playing pinball with a table built around a woman. Why? No idea, the game never tells you. The game’s key art depicts a different person running from a tide of skeletons, but that’s already more than the game ever imparts. All you’re told is the score for each of the icons on the table, and that filling the pink bar on the right will “unlock sex play” and give you another pinball. Anything else that I talk about from now on is something that I had to discover for myself.

Zombikini PinballZ has a single lady (by which I mean there’s only one, I can’t speak to her dating status), with a pinball table built around her. You fire the ball and play pinball, collecting icons and trying to match three larger icons to score more. Suddenly, without warning, zombie hands tear away a piece of her clothing!

At least she isn't afraid?

This actually took me a couple of goes to work out, but there are orbs along certain points of each article of clothing. Hitting them repeatedly until they’re all gone will make zombie hands remove said article, revealing whatever is beneath. She’s wearing a top, trousers, a bra, and panties — so four articles of clothing in total, should you manage to get that damn left-side bra orb.

While Zombikini PinballZ isn’t tricky to begin with, unclothing the lady will make it more challenging. Once her boobs are free they actually get in the way of your pinball! When her lower half is bare you’ll also have to deal with her mons Venus getting in the way, too. Of course, once it’s trickier, you get more opportunities to grow that pink bar on the left that I mentioned, as that’s where the second half of the game is locked behind.

The pink bar is a pleasure bar, and while she seems into getting a pinball smashed into her bosom, those three icons which I said you had to match? Well, when she’s nude, they change. You can match them into hands or sex toys, and each one obviously fills the bar at a different rate, and, at least with the hands, they make the table a bit easier to play. Turns out that hands don’t get in the way as much as mammaries.

Why yes, that is a completely different person

The sex play that I mentioned at the start is just that. You can use your points to buy sex toys from the shop (and outfits to customise the character) and then use them to pleasure the lady to orgasm. Then do it again, if you like?

Zombikini PinballZ’s artwork is definitely its strongest point, with an attractive table occupier who pulls some expressive faces. The music is bland and changes seemingly at random, and the uncredited voice actor only has a handful of different sounds to make.

There are definitely some good ideas in here, that fleshed out would make a much better game. Zombikini PinballZ, unfortunately, is just too bare-bones to make much of a meal with. Its one table isn’t even that interesting which is a huge shame, as the table getting more difficult because you’re winning is definitely something that could be expanded upon. For now, however, I wish the developer the breasts.

Zombikini PinballZ (Reviewed on Windows)

The game is average, with an even mix of positives and negatives.

Could be cheap enough for a laugh, but probably not one for hardcore pinball fans, people who want any kind of hint of a story, or those who want some creative nudity.

This game was purchased at retail for the purpose of this review
