How to Unlock Every Spirit in Spirit City: Lofi Sessions Base Game
Spirit City: Lofi Sessions is a game disguised as a productivity tool, which has all of the bells and whistles that you might need to keep yourself motivated (like Pomodoro timers and checklists) while also incorporating gamifying mechanics. One such thing is the capability to unlock Spirits, which are little pets that will do the activities your avatar is doing alongside you.
The base game's Spiritdex comes with 25 Spirits, and to unlock them, you'll need to raise your Spiritographer level and solve a small puzzle in the form of a one-line sentence. It's a pretty simple system, but if you're not up to finding out what you need to do, we've got you covered!
Here's how to unlock every Spirit in Spirit City: Lofi Sessions Base Game!
Before We Get Started

The way the unlocking mechanic works is that you'll need to select specific things in the game to be able to unlock the Spirits. This means selecting the right Activity, Lighting, and Sounds, with sometimes sub-activities taking part as well.
Once you have all of the right things selected, you'll hear a quiet sound queue that lets you know you have it right, and afterwards, you'll need to wait. The amount of time starts getting longer as you go down the Spiritdex, but so long as you've heard the sound queue, you should be golden!
Goopii

My desk has felt strangely clean lately, I may even be missing some supplies.
Activity: Desk — Any
If you're finding that your home is uncharacteristically clean without you actually going out of your way to clean it, you might be housing your very own Goopii. These slime-looking Spirits love to eat all sorts of items: dust, crumbs, staplers... they're indiscriminate in their appetite, and won't leave residue.
Dust Bunny

I've heard strange noises under my bed at night, I wonder what it could be.
Activity: Bed
Lighting: Night
Long ago, it was believed that Dust Bunnies would emerge from the accumulation of dust, yet it seems like the truth is rather the opposite: these Spirits have evolved to hide in the dust from humans. These cute little bunnies have a habit of hoarding knick-knacks, so you'll often find items like paperclips or buttons stowed away in their lairs!
Earlybirb

The past few mornings I've been awoken by a curious chirping noise.
Lighting: Morning
Sounds: Birds Singing
Earlybirbs are enthusiastic Spirits that love the Sun, rising with it to sing energetic songs. They're very positive and lively, and it's been seen that other Spirits might just avoid them from time to time, struggling to keep up with their demeanour.
Hedgelog

My room has been extra hot lately, I wonder if there's something up with my fireplace...?
Activity: Fireplace
Sounds: Cozy Fireplace
The Hedgelog is a Spirit that brings heat, making it perfect for the autumn and winter months. These solitary hedgehogs like to nestle in the fire, finding shelter in furnaces and campfires.
Arachknit

As the light gets low, I seem to keep stepping on bits of loose knitting yarn scattered about.
Activity: Fireplace
Sub-activity: Knitting
The Arachknit is a cute spider-like Spirit that is able to weave endless threads of yarn. By spinning some beautiful ones, they lure smaller Spirits to their webs... and then knit them a sweater and let them free!
Chapterpillar

Whenever I'm reading, I've felt the presence of something over my shoulder.
Sub-activity: Reading
The Chapterpillar is a perfect Spirit to cosy up with while reading a book. Their antennae emit a soft glow, perfect for illuminating text, though their fast-reading tendencies means that they might nudge your hand if you're taking too long to turn the page, even if you haven't caught up!
Moonpaw

On windy nights, it almost sounds like something is howling at the moon.
Lighting: Night
Sounds: Soothing Wind
The howls in the distance that you've heard aren't from ferocious wolves travelling in packs hunting... but instead an excited Moonpaw. These nocturnal Spirits draw strength from the Moon, so the brighter and more unobstructed Luna is, the more energetic a Moonpaw will be; just brace yourself for the full moon.
Drizzlefin

I heard an old tale of a teary-eyed spirit...
"When the sky weeps and stars come out to play, you might find them swimming amidst the droplets."
Lighting: Night
Sounds: Smooth Rain
Drizzlefins are Spirits oft avoided by others — their big, blue eyes and complexion makes them seem like they're barely holding back from crying. While they've been believed to gather after events of great misfortune, it seems they do so to gather around those who have suffered a loss or tragedy to put them at ease.
Trashnuki

This hungry spirit can be lured out by the sound of cooking around lunchtime.
Lighting: Afternoon
Sounds: Tasty Sizzling
Playful little Spirits, the Trashnuki like to shapeshift into other items — notably, trashcans — to gather food only for their most peculiar and picky palets: thrown-away meals. They spend their days gathering rubbish, and then sorting it to the correct bins, eating the spoils that they gather along the way.
Kettlebrew

Rumours abound of a spirit that welcomes the day with a cup of tea by the fire.
Activity: Fireplace
Sub-activity: Sipping
Lighting: Morning
Kettlebrew doesn't have a corporeal body of its own, but instead, this Spirit possesses a teapot that's beloved by its owner. Once a Kettlebrew has made residence in a home, the teapot will supply endless delicious tea... no one knows where it comes from, and no one really wants to think too hard about it.
Sunquill

There's an enchanting song coming from the forest as the sun sets.
Lighting: Evening
Sounds: Night Forest
Sunquills are performative Spirits, and they love to show off their plumes and dance moves to others. If you're looking to befriend one, all you have to do is compliment their plumage and skills!
Bulbee

During lightning storms, I've noticed the lights flicker in strange patterns.
Sounds: Rumbling Thunders
Bulbees are elusive Spirits that love electricity — much like bees, they like to fly around collecting energy to fill their bulbs, and then return to their hives once it's been fully stored. They come out most frequently during thunderstorms, often being the cause of light flickering.
Vootodoo

This spirit haunts those who spend too much time procrastinating in bed.
Activity: Bed
Sub-activity: Either Gaming or Browsing
Procrastinators will find that they may be haunted by a Vootodoo, a Spirit that's born from unfinished tasks and the energy of disorganisation. The good news? A well-placed sticky note straight on the forehead can subdue them and make them a friendly apparition!
Inkster

I heard of a spirit that can help me overcome my writer's block
Sub-activity: Writing
It is believed that when a writer finishes their 1,000th story, an Inkster comes to life: a mischievous little Spirit that loves a good prank. Splotches, typos, and missing punctuation are but only a few of their nefarious gags, though they're all reversible, and just there for a good laugh.
Bobapole

I heard of a spirit that loves boba tea, it's a great pick-me-up when my energy gets low from typing all day!
Activity: Desk
Sub-activity: Typing
Lighting: Evening
Bobapoles are extremely social Spirits that can often be found in clusters. These highly energetic creatures are squishy to the touch, and they need constant moisture to retain their round shape, so they'll often be found playing in desk-side drinking cups in an effort to raise the morale of others.
Waxolotl

What's that smell on the afternoon breeze, almost like a candle burning?
Lighting: Afternoon
Sounds: Soothing Wind
Junior summoners are the most responsible for bringing Waxolotls to life — they're most often brought forth by failed summoning conjurings. While oft effectless, a failed summon that has one of the ritual candles blown out by the midday breeze makes a Waxolotl be born!
Hamstereo

My vinyl player has been acting up lately, skipping beats whenever I'm nearby.
Activity: Fireplace
Sounds: Soft Vinyl Noise
Hamstereo's looks aren't just for show — those big, headphone-like ears are believed to be an evolution for their hyper-sensitivity to loud noises. Nowadays, these Spirits use this evolutionary quirk to tune in to music, finding a particular love for the lo-fi genre!
APE-Bit

A mysterious glitch has been showing up in every game I play. I can't find info on any online message boards about it!
Sub-activity: Gaming
APE-Bits are known for going bananas around videogames — their signature head resembles a controller, after all! They join in-progress saves, hoping to find new friends in the digital worlds, though they can sometimes get over-excited; if they do, just take out their cartridge and blow on it if it has some dust build-up!
Flutterfrog

As I start my day in quiet meditation, sometimes I can sense another presence eyeing me curiously.
Sub-activity: Meditating
Lighting: Morning
These pudgy little Spirits are frog-shaped butterflies, though their wings can barely hold their weight, that doesn't stop them from flying as much as they can! Flutterfrogs are known for being able to hold a lot of spirit energy, so they're a very famous pick as familiars for witches.
Hexwing

During cool autumn nights something can be seen stalking the skies— the sounds of other nocturnal creatures herald it's arrival.
Lighting: Night
Sounds: Night Forest
Hexwings are magically-runed Spirits that can sense energy with their large ears, similar to their normal counterparts' capability to echolocate. These Spirits may be solitary, but they are able to become very loyal familiars to witches, with their talons being able to carry reagents for spell components, making them great for potion-making sorcerers!
Twintail

It was hard to make out, but I swear I saw something through the snowstorm...
Sounds: Gentle Snowstorm
Once upon a time, it was believed that Twintails were the heralds of the changing season, as they would swipe their tails to sweep the autumn leaves and leave about snow. Though that's since been debunked, Twintails are still a great way to tell when seasonal changes are coming about, as their tails change colour.
BloomScale

While the sun is out, every time I tidy the floor near the window, I notice soil-covered footprints appearing a few moments later.
Activity: Baywindow
Sub-activity: Cleaning
Lighting: Morning, Afternoon, or Evening
BloomScales are plant-loving reptiles who have tails that work like a plant's root — their idea of Nirvana consists of resting in the Sun with their tails dipped in a water bed! These Spirits are great companions for aspiring gardeners or those who love nature nearly as much as they do.
Catsudon

During my after-dinner stretches I've felt the presence of a curious Spirit.
Activity: Baywindow
Sub-activity: Stretching
Lighting: Evening
Catsudon was one of the first Spirits to ever be discovered, though don't mistake that for them having a bold personality. These shy Spirits have become a phenomenon across the world, becoming mascots for brands and more, but they'll more often than not hide beneath their favourite treat, a ramen bowl, when they're feeling bashful.
Crewmate

In the vast emptiness of space, a game of intrigue is played.
Sub-activity: Gaming
Lighting: Morning
This is... sus. Pretty sure this Spirit is an impostor — we should vote him out.
