Dead as Disco Reveals Early Access Roadmap for Upcoming Updates

Dead as Disco Reveals Early Access Roadmap for Upcoming Updates

Overwhelmingly Positive Dead as Disco launched just on the 5th of May, and the title has already earned its spot as one of the top Game of the Year contenders. Brain Jar Games, Inc. mixed beat-'em-up gameplay with rhythm in a killer combination that resonated with audiences.

The title was released on Steam Early Access, so there are still ways to go before it reaches its full potential, but with over 200,000 sales, it's already more than earned its spot among the greats. Still, the team is looking forward to what's next for Charlie Disco and what players can expect moving forward.

Brain Jar Games released a new Early Access Roadmap (called the Early Access Roadtrip) that highlights the content that players can expect for the coming months. It includes five sections of upcoming content, preparing for the 2027 1.0 launch.

The five major updates are as follows:

  • June: Infinite Disco Upgrades
  • Midsummer: Rockstar Fashion Upgrades
  • Finale: New Idol to Fight
  • Fall: Tour Dates To Be Announced
  • 2027: 1.0 Launch

Of course, as it is with every Early Access roadmap, plenty of issues can arise and prevent the team from meeting the deadlines. While this is the current plan, who knows what the future holds for Dead as Disco, and what sorts of content, hurdles, and more will cause delays or add new exciting features to the lineup.

One of the best things we got to learn about the upcoming roadmap is the features that are being worked on, which let us see what sort of content players can anticipate. This is an expansive, 16-item list of features that players can anticipate that are already being worked on, though they don't have a particular spot in the Dead as Disco roadmap.

Here's what the team is working on:

  • Co-op Multiplayer
  • More music to fight to
  • New boss idols
  • New skills and abilities
  • New enemies
  • New arenas
  • More narrative arcs
  • A full voice-over for the experience
  • More memorabilia
  • More Rockstar fashion (as shown on the Midsummer update)
  • Dive Bar renovations
  • Achievements
  • Replay and Photo support
  • More expansive mod support
  • Accessibility and calibration settings
  • New localisation languages (of which Dead as Disco already supports 12)

This is all set for the future of Dead as Disco as Brain Jar Games works towards its 1.0 launch in 2027. You can pick up the title now on PC via Steam for £19.99, with a 20% launch discount bringing the price down to £15.99 until the 19th of May.
