Evoland Developer Shiro Games Announce Northgard

With the success of the television series Viking, Stoic Game's Banner Saga series and Sweden in the Eurovision Song contest, Vikings are clearly the latest hot property in the world of entertainment. The horned-helmet wearing pillagers are everywhere, from the big screen to the small. 

Indie studio Shiro Games, the Bordeaux-based developer of the Evoland games, has announced its new strategy and exploration game. The title, which is set to come to the PC latest this year, will be entitled Northgard. The game features, as you might expect from the intro; Vikings.

Northgard is a strategy game deeply ingrained with Norse mythology in which brave explorers have discovered a new world filled with mystery and danger, where players are tasked to help them survive and thrive in a hostile land. They will face mystical creatures like dire wolves and undead warriors roaming the land, giants that they can befriend or defeat, and winters so harsh even the boldest Vikings will shiver!
